First Week in Wisconsin!
Hey family,Wisconsin is great! I got assigned to the Racine area. Its a good sized town of about 80,000 a little South of Milwaukee. The President and his wife are great and really energetic. I have a great trainer too, his name is Elder Stribling, hes been on his mission for about 9 months. The elders before us were both leaving (one died, which means his mission is over, and the other is now our ZL) so me and my trainer got doubled in. It was hard at first learning all the streets and leadership of our ward, but now im really good at using maps :) We have a great ward here! Everyone is super friendly and excited to get new missionaries. We have 5 baptismal dates set for July for our ward. In fact in my first appointment we went to with the old elders we set one of the dates. As for me and my trainer, we've been hard at work trying to visit as many of the leadership and baptismal dates as we can, while still doing some street contacing and tracting. We actually found our first investigator yesterday, her name is Vicki. We were looking up a referal that a member gave us on a street called Fieldview. After we tried the refferal's house (no one there) we started walking back to our car. On the way back we saw a lady sitting in her garage and we decided to talk to her. Once we introduced ourselves she started asking a ton of questions. We ansered them pretty well and talked about almost every Gospel principle. After about 15 questions and 30 minutes later (we sat on the driceway) we had given her the 1st, 3rd, a little of the 2nd lessons, a Restoration DVD,and a Book of Mormon! We have a return appointment next week. I'm super excited! As for monatary things, we have an o.k. appartment in a neighborhood that has a barbed wire fence (keeping us out of the one next to us). At least we have our own washer and drier :) We have a car 3 out of 4 weeks, so thats nice (some members live pretty far out). Overall its been a GREAT couple of days!
